According to Find Easy, as of 2021, there are a total of 773 districts in 36 States & UTs of India. Uttar Pradesh with 75 districts has the maximum number of districts in the India.

In India, the number of districts has been increasing from time to time. The ofcial reason is that it helps in better administration. However, there are other reasons too which are not ofcially known. It seems that the central government wants to get more control over the states and their respective administrations.

The increase in the number of districts has led to a lot of problems as well. For one, it has made it difcult for people living in different parts of the country to communicate with each other. Secondly, it has caused a lot of duplication of work as different administrations have to be created for each new district.

How Many District In India 2020?

According to WIKI, as of 2020, there’s a total of 741 districts in India, up from the 640 in the 2011 Census of India and the 593 recorded in the 2001 Census of India.

The new districts are being created as part of the country’s ongoing efforts to create more effective and responsive governance structures.

The goal is to make it easier for individuals and businesses to access government services and to facilitate smoother trade and commerce between different parts of the country.
